Natural edged and matched wood with metal, has resulted in modern design, uniquely South African in style.
Ilovani is passionate about sustainability; using timber from accredited sources ; implementing recovery programs – creating accessories from wood ‘off-cuts’ and utilising redundant ‘wine barrel oak’ in functional designs.
Our showroom - amoeba@ilovani - by The Heath Complex on the N2 between Knysna & Plett.
We embrace ‘skills development programs’, teaching and imparting dignity to our local community. Ilovani means 'chameleon' in xhosa; named as a tribute to the ever changing, dynamic character of this creature.
Our workshop & showroom are located outside Plettenberg Bay, surrounded by some of the world’s most pristine and beautiful natural forests. The influence and inspiration of nature’s garden on the company is obvious. Nature inspired and Ilovani listened, translating this into a message of craftsmanship, quality and unique character. The sculptural appeal of the natural wood combined with the passion of our designers and artisans gives our ‘Ilovani’ range artistic licence!
Each piece is individually hand crafted, inspired by the distinctive character of the carefully chosen local timber, selected for its character. The result is an organic fusion of natural elements and metal which has become Ilovani’s trademark. Interesting alternatives to the indigenous wood creations are the furniture items crafted from recovered Wine Barrels.
